Astronomy and Astrophysics are not only my major fields of study, but also my mentor that guide me to explore more about science. The charm of the universe attracted me so deeply that I determined to dedicate myself to Astro. When I was a kid, I always wondered about the extraterrestrial lives, far distant galaxies, as well as the possibilities of the expansion of our human civilization to every corner of the universe. On May 17th, I attended one of the events: The 132nd Faculty Research Lecture. This event was hosted by Professor Alice Shapley, the vice chair of Astronomy&Astrophysics from the department of Physics and Astronomy. I chose to attended this event was mainly because the host and related materials are coherent with the fields of study of my second major-Astrophysics. The main topic of this lecture is "Travelling Back to the Birth Time of the Galaxies", which is exactly the contents of the Universe History that I learned from lower-division astro classes and high school before. On April 22nd, I attended the event HOX ZODIAC: SNAKE which was under the host of Professor Vesna, her collegues, and some other guest speakers at the Artsci center. The main topic of this event is about the Snake, Zodiac, and Earth Day mentioned by Professor Vesna.  HOX ZODIAC: SNAKE!!! Firstly, the guest speaker Siddharth in the lab brought up three containers that had three snakes in them, and he said these snakes are even older than him! Siddharth initiated the talk from the mimimal perspective of the snake and then broaden to the entire animal kingdom, and finally the human beings. The snake is a kind of representative of the coexistance of living creatures like animals and human beings ourselves, to all make the Mother Earth a better place and have brighter future.  Siddharth-Snakes in the Lab Both Professor Vesna and Siddharth mentioned that we should have recognition of the relationship between us and animals/environment, which I firmly believe is a grand topic of the Earth Day

Neuroscience starts to become one of the most important fields of study in the biology and medicial studies. Surguries, brain imagining, as well as other biotechnologies help facilitate our understanding of our brains which contain great opportunities and secrets. From the ancient times when ancestors started exploring brains, to the well-developed scientific investigation on brains systematically nowadays, our recognition and knowledge about brains, neuroscience, memory, personalities, psychology, etc. are now becoming more and more comprehensive. Neuroscience & Brain Neuroscience is a kind of enlightenment tutor for me to further study sciences when I attended summer camp during secondary school. I selected the course Intro to Neuroscience when I was at Taft summer session, and I was strongly intrigues by the 3D mathematically built brain model during the demo of my instructor. Some scholars said that there are two keys for human society to step forward into a new era: One is frontier Physics&Astronomy, which discover the extraterrestrial unknowns in the universe. And the other is Medicine&Human Biology, which deal with issues of human bodies and life. Fortunately, I have been working in these fields of study since secondary school, and I think as Joe Davis and Professor Vesna mentioned there is indeed arts involved in these fields, especially with the Biology and Biotech I wish to discuss about.
